A Ministry Offering Hope to Those Impacted by Same-Sex Attraction & Gender Dysphoria

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25
Since COVID began, our support groups have been meeting online. While this is certainly convenient, there is something special about meeting face-to-face! With this in mind, we had a gathering on January 24th. We ate lunch, had a brief service with musical worship, a testimony, and a devotional word on “seasons;” then we had coffee and dessert. There was laughter, life was shared, and we got to meet some support group participants in person for the first time. Most importantly, people were offered hope and left encouraged. Here is a picture of some of our leaders as well as members of the board.
People come to our support groups from a variety of places and a variety of backgrounds. Some fully embraced a gay identity and had long-term relationships; others suffered in silence, often telling no one. Whatever their stories might have been, we trust God to offer them hope as they encounter Him through Alive in Christ. Here is a testimony from a man who joined our weekly support group in 2025:
How could I possibly find God’s love and peace in the midst of my struggle with same-sex attraction? That is one of the many questions I wrestled with as I began a group at Alive in Christ Ministry. I feel that I’m already learning so much, and it has been such a positive experience.
I had buried my struggles so deep. Everything was hidden and unspeakable. It has been healing to bring these things to the surface in a safe place. Hearing from others who struggle in this area has brought a feeling of relief and solace. My judgmental heart is slowly softening toward myself and others. Each meeting brings courage, inspiration, and a bit of humor to the struggle. I feel like I’m hearing God’s voice through the mentors and members of the group. As someone who is awfully shy, it has been a rare, hard-to-find blessing and gift to me.
So, thank you! Your prayers and your financial support make all this possible. We were able to raise just over $14,000 in our year-end fundraiser, which was just above our “break-even” need. Of course, you can give at any time of year, and we appreciate your generosity! We are also currently scheduling seminars and church services for 2026.
