What can I even begin to say about Alive in Christ? I first began attending back in late 2005, when I finally decided to address my unwanted same-sex attraction. I quickly found support, love and understanding from a group of individuals that shared my struggle and many who had victoriously overcome. After attending for three years, I moved out of the area and was no longer a regular participant, but kept in touch with many members and leaders.
Fast forward to 2013. I had moved to another state and through a series of missteps, found myself involved in a same sex relationship that lasted nearly five months. After it ended, I reached out to Brenna Kate and once again, she was able to provide the love, support and truth I needed to hear. She encouraged me to attend the Hope Rising conference sponsored by the Hope for Wholeness Network. I told her I would love to be able to attend, but financially it wasn’t possible. She quickly responded that if I could block off the time, Alive in Christ would make a way for me to go. I was beyond touched by the generosity of a ministry I hadn’t been directly involved with in years. I was able to attend the conference, along with my pastor and we both had a wonderful time. I walked away from the weekend with a huge dose of encouragement, a strengthened relationship with one of the most important women in my life, and a renewed sense of hope. I am so very thankful for the ministry of Alive in Christ and its leadership. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
